Confidentiality

My work is governed by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) code of ethics and confidentiality which means that I do not discuss details of my clients with other people. The only instance where I may need to share information with other agencies, would be if you or another person is at risk of harm. I will always discuss such concerns with you first.
The BACP code of ethics is primarily for the protection of clients and dictates that all member counsellors regularly see a supervisor in order to ensure that the work they do is best tailored to their clients needs. This requires that I share limited information concerning my clients with my supervisor although your identity will not be disclosed. My supervisor also abides by the BACP code of ethics and confidentiality.
